Firm Profile
The Law Office of Edward P. Ryan was founded in 1978. Since then,
Ed Ryan and other attorneys in the firm have represented literally
thousands of individuals in many different areas of the law.
Over the years, an effort has been made to focus upon the areas
of personal injury, social security disability and business-related
matters.
PERSONAL INJURY
The primary emphasis of the firm is upon representing individuals injured due
to the negligence of others. It is the firm's policy to obtain a jury verdict
unless the insurance carrier has offered an adequate settlement.
Types of cases include product liability, auto accidents, slip and falls, and
numerous other areas involving serious injury or wrongful death.
It is the firm's policy to advance costs necessary to prosecute the case and
to be repaid from the settlement or jury verdict proceeds.
Statistically, more than 95% of the cases that have been prosecuted have resulted
in a recovery for the client as well as a payment of all expenses and attorney
fees.
SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY
The representation of clients before the Social Security Administration is
limited to claimants who have already applied for benefits but have been denied.
At this point, the client's case will be accepted provided it is felt that
we can be of assistance and, in fact, the majority of the appeals to an Administrative
Law Judge are successful.
SSD fees are set by law at 25%, limited to a maximum of $5,300.00 payable from
the proceeds of a successful appeal. The average fee is about $2,800.00. Normally
there are no additional monies owed for expenses but occasionally it is necessary
to retain a vocational expert. This would be discussed with and approved by
the client beforehand
